THE CZECH CHAMBER OF AUTHORIZED ENGINEERS AND TECHNICIANS WORKING IN CONSTRUCTION (ČKAIT)

The Czech Chamber of Authorized Engineers and Technicians Working in Construction is a public organization established in 1992 on the basis of Act No. 360/92 Coll. (Act of the CNR on the exercise of the profession of authorized architects and on the exercise of the profession of authorized engineers and technicians active in construction).

Authorization is a necessary condition for the performance of selected activities, the result of which affects the protection of public interests in construction. The authorized person (AO) is obliged to carry out activities for which authorization was granted in accordance with generally binding legal regulations and in accordance with the Professional and Ethical Code of ČKAIT. It is obliged to continue its professional education and monitor the information necessary for the proper performance of its activities. Today, the Chamber’s membership consists of more than 32,000 authorized engineers and technicians, who were granted authorization based on the successful completion of the prescribed professional competence test. Act 360/92 Coll., on the exercise of the profession of authorized architects and authorized engineers and technicians active in construction, professional responsibility in selected construction activities was transferred to natural persons: authorized architects, engineers, technicians and builders. An extensive list of cooperation was opened, in which authorized persons and the Czech Chamber of Authorized Engineers and Technicians active in construction bear the relevant part of co-responsibility, especially in the area of design and construction management. From ČKAIT’s point of view, this is about technical quality at the level of fields and specializations, protection of clients’ interests in spatial planning, design, construction, protection and creation of the environment.
